Scholarships
Scholarships open the door for talented students from all walks of life to experience the incredible array of life-changing opportunities that await at Pepperdine.
For the vast majority of Pepperdine’s students, their transformative educational journeys have the same starting point: a scholarship—the financial support that makes that journey possible. You can give an aspiring Wave no greater gift than a scholarship that opens that first door, behind which all the other doors of opportunity await. At Pepperdine, we pride ourselves on changing students’ lives—and by supporting scholarships, you get to be the catalyst for that change.
A college education has never been more vibrant, energizing, or full of possibility than it is today. Unfortunately, it’s also never been more expensive. As tuition costs and student debt loads mount, ÃÛÌÒÇι«Ö÷has been proactive in countering these trends: our Office of Financial Assistance works diligently to help students and families bridge the gap between costs and student aid.
For the increasing resources and support available to our students, we have the worldwide ÃÛÌÒÇι«Ö÷community to thank. Its generosity has created countless scholarship opportunities for future generations of leaders—whether their family’s income status qualifies them for need-based aid; their academic, artistic, or athletic talents provide opportunities for merit-based aid; or a combination of these or other life circumstances. Thus, these investments that make ÃÛÌÒÇι«Ö÷attainable also make it a place of welcome and belonging for one of the nation’s most diverse student bodies. Scholarship aid makes college dreams a reality.
When I was first applying to Seaver College, I didn’t think it would be possible for me to go given my family’s financial situation. This was heartbreaking to me, because Seaver College was everything I wanted. I actually applied close to the deadline and was disappointed to not get much financial support at first. But I appealed, and a few days before I had to make my decision I was offered a much larger financial aid package, which is the reason I was able to come here. The scholarships helped alleviate the financial burden and gave me a sense of feeling seen and valued.

Investment Impact
Who benefits from scholarship support? More students than you might think—in fact, as many as 90 percent of ÃÛÌÒÇι«Ö÷students receive some sort of financial aid. For some students, a need-based scholarship makes possible a ÃÛÌÒÇι«Ö÷education that might never have been attainable for them otherwise. Many student-athletes, of course, receive scholarships that let them display their athletic gifts at the highest level of collegiate competition. And many other students receive scholarships that allow them to participate in specific opportunities, from research programs to life-changing semesters abroad.
And the support provided by scholarships benefits more than just the student recipient. With the burden of college tuition lifted, their entire family gains financial security and peace of mind. And when students no longer have to worry about significant student loans, they can focus their financial resources on other goals and responsibilities—a car, a home, even college funding that will benefit their own children down the road. A single scholarship can lay the groundwork for multigenerational opportunity, security, and success.
